As for my personal life, I’m totally pissed with T-Mobile, my service provider for the past 4 years. I am a sidekick fanatic. I love everything sidekick! It’s a really neat phone and it has everything I need on it. I have myfavs 300 (doesnt exist anymore) and sidekick unlimited and my bill is typically $67 a month. To me, that’s cheap! To someone else it’s expensive! But now T-Mobile has decided to discontinue the sidekick data plan so I will no longer get it for the price I have now. I HAVE to get a new phone which totally sucks. I’m really tired of T-Mobile. My newest sidekick is STILL under warranty! Not even a year old which I paid full retail price for to avoid being in a contract because my previous sidekick started acting up and T-Mobile refused to offer me any type of help or a new phone. Now the company won’t offer me any type of discount on any new phone that I want even though they SOLD the sidekick to me knowing they were going to get rid of them and the data plan. I mean seriously? I pay my bill on time ALL the time. Not a lot of people do that. I have two lines on my phone. I pay good money to these people every month and they treat you like crap. I’m really considering filing a class action lawsuit against this company or filing with the Better Business Bureau. It’s completely ridiculously! I have this phone that’s not even a year old yet and I can’t even use it nor can I sell it b/c it’ll be useless to someone else as well. FML.

Anyway I must be off. I’m seriously working on the content for Eyes-Shut [dot] com, my main domain. I’ve been putting it off for so months its really a shame to say the sub-domain (Endless) is set up but not the main website. Hosting packages will be available shortly to those who meet the requirements. I will be back probably tomorrow or the following day with an additional update to explain my long absence. Oh and Happy 2011! ^_^

I’m officially done with vocational school. I graduated in July. I don’t remember mentioning it. I’m really excited because l’m moving on to bigger and better things. I’m taking a break from college at the moment. It was just too much for me to take on at that point and my brain was like…STOP RIGHT NOW! Haha. But that’s pretty much life so far. I’m currently in the market to buy a car. A 2011 Ford Fiesta to be exact. I’m looking for a super cheap dealer that would be willing to cut me a good deal considering I have the most amazing credit history ever. Lol.

Anyway I’ve temporarily disabled comments. It seems that the spammers have figured out a way around my CAPTCHA and have been spamming my inbox with comments about online research and what not. It also made me realize that I don’t even know what to do with my site anymore. I feel like scrapping the whole thing sometimes then other times I want to keep it but don’t possess any energy to work on it. But it IS the only means of self-expression I have so it’ll probably be around for a little while longer. At least until my domain expires and I’d really hate to get rid of it then because I am in love with the name. It’s not cheap buying a domain. Lol.

But yea, my life has taken on a completely new twist. I’m extremely confused and unprepared for the coils but I guess I have to try and navigate to the best of my abilities. All I have to say is that I didn’t realize people were so spiteful and hateful toward other people and how they will do anything to see you amount to nothing. Their joy in life is in your suffering. My question to those people are: “How can you possibly sleep at night?” But there is that saying that goes, “Let sleeping dogs lie because every dog has it’s day.” So I’m not going to do anything anymore. The situation is beyond my control and I’m tired of fighting with people who don’t know a thing about me and choose to assume rather than ask. It’s always going to be their way or the highway so why even waste your breath explaining things to people who are ‘hearing’ you but not ‘listening’. I’m definitely one of those people who stands by the belief that what goes around comes around. But I’m definitely going through a rough patch in my life. And it sucks. But I’ll be ok.

The crazy month of July began on the 1^st and has not ended yet! I am going to catalog everything that has happened to me so far this month. It’s been an extremely hectic month for me which is why I haven’t updated nearly as much as I’d love to. But I really appreciate all of the comments, emails, tags and support from all of you guys. You’re wonderful!

The 1^st. So on the 1^st of July I scheduled a hair appointment that took practically six hours to complete. I wasn’t getting it straightened. Haha. I was actually getting kinky twists put into my hair because of the summer season not realizing “oh snap” is the first, I have to pay my rent. Yikes. Good thing I was on summer break because it allowed me to make a mad dash to the bank to get a money order for my rent.

The 6^th. I ended up going to the community college of my choice to file paperwork for an EOP&S which is a book voucher that pays for the books you need for your classes. Anyway after calling the school several times to be sure I wasn’t getting the run-around, I get the A-OK to come to the campus and file the paperwork. Only when I get there they don’t have the paperwork prepared for the Fall semester until mid August! So I wasted my time going up there when they could have told me that over the phone. Turns out…all the employees thought I said I wanted the EOPS paperwork for the Summer semester. How does Fall sound like Summer? Anyone?

The 9^th. Ah yes, my birthday. On my birthday I was actually in school which was weird because I’m usually not in school during my birthday because I have a summer birthday. This is what I get for attending a year-round institute. Anyway I had been running around doing college stuff during the week that I completely forgot I had an Airline Carrier Codes test that day that I hadn’t really studied for. I asked my instructor if I could have just one more extra day because the information didn’t seem to be sticking. I did study a little bit but not as much as I wanted to due to my college deadlines with registration and what not. Anyway she got an attitude with me and said, “You know what Ariel, everyone else had to study for the same test you obviously did not study for. You are not going to cut it in college missy!” Oh yeah, did I mention it was my birthday? I failed the test miserably. Scored the lowest I had ever scored on a test in my entire life. I think this made the instructor happy because she hates my guts for some reason. I recently applied for a part-time position at a shoe store and when I asked if I could use resume paper she coolly replies, “Do you really think you should use the “good” resume paper on a part-time position? It would be such a waste.” A job is a job damnit! The day did however progress and I was cheered up by my friends—received a few bucks, hugs and kisses from my loved ones. Overall, the damnedest birthday ever.

The 10^th. I had dinner at Applebees with my mom and sister. My mom slipped off and told the hostess it was my birthday and the entire crew sang Happy Birthday to me complete with a strawberry short cake! My out-of-state relatives called me to wish me well and happy birthday too! Oh and I ordered a pair of heels as a gift to myself. Overall, good day.

The 16^th. For those of you guys who have been following along since last year may know what this important day was. My court date for the “suppose” traffic violation in a photo enforced intersection that I got last year during Christmas season. I was charged on count one for failure to stop at a red light. And I was asked to plead. Not guilty of course! I was completely within my rights. I was already in the intersection when the light turned red! What am I supposed to do, stop in the intersection? But before I get to the juicy parts…let me tell you, I was almost attacked by a pack of angry court-bound drivers. I went to court at 8am and was released a little bit after 11am. Anyway I had to listen to countless cases before they got to mine which took all of 10 minutes to look over. One woman got ticketed for driving too slow in a school zone. I didn’t know that was possible!

Anyway, before it was 8am there was a huge line. I was kinda depressed I would have to wait a long time before I was heard. I walked up to the first approachable person I saw which was an elderly lady and I began to ask her questions about the line to make sure it was the right one I was supposed to be in and what time the court opened. She said they didn’t open til 9 which shocked me because my appointment was for 8:15am. Anyway these two women a few people down start talking loudly where I could obviously hear and said obnoxious things like: “Doesn’t this b*tch see this line here? Why the f*ck is this cutting in front of this line? I’ve been standing her forever and I am not about to lose my spot to her!” and “Look at her hair and clothes, who is she trying to impress?” Umm the judge? Hello! I don’t want to pay someone $500 dollars for a supposed traffic violation! I don’t even have book money for college! I had on slacks and a blouse, come on! At least appear that you give a damn. I was unfortunately the only one dressed. Lol. I walked to the end of the line, receiving crazy stares from the two women.

Anyway a court receptionist…(I did not know they had these) came out with an A-K list and started ticking off the names of people to appear in court. A lot of people didn’t appear. Anyway my last name is four letters before the K. The two women’s last names were in the T’s so you can imagine how pissed off they were that they had been waiting there longer and that I had been called before them. I didn’t tell the judge to call everyone alphabetically. As we were seated one of the women kicked my chair in the back and I nearly fell over! I don’t understand why people are so goddamn mean. I’m not a confrontational person but I will kick someone’s ass if that meant defending myself and what I thought was right. I let that go however because one) it was a freaking courthouse! I’m trying to evade trouble, not get into it! And two) I’m a firm believer in what goes around, comes around. Crazy adults! I pleaded not guilty and a trial was set for end of August. Let’s just hope I don’t have to pay a dime. I know CA is broke but please, I need all the money I can get for school.

The 20^th. I had a job interview with a shoe store in my area. The interview was scheduled at 2:30 but it didn’t actually get underway until around 3:45 because the manager felt her crew “needed” her on the floor. There were TEN other employees walking about the store who were working. Don’t schedule an interview with someone at that time if it is inconvenient for you. Anyway I sucked badly because I was so tired from everything. She asked me how I would perform 4 tasks she assigned to me at the same time. I mean…is that a trick question? It’s completely impossible to perform 4 tasks simultaneously. Anyway I don’t think she’s going to call me. This was also the day my instructor told me this position or me weren’t worth the waste of “good” resume paper.

The 21^st. My exit date for vocational school is set for the end of next month! I’m really disappointed with this because I wanted to have some free time, at least a week, before being thrown back into school again. Vocational school isn’t allowing me breathing time after all the BS I’ve put up with simply due to the fact that I’m not leaving with a J-O-B instead I’m trying to go to college. Since the college date is set, I’m screwed. I get two days, Saturday and Sunday before being thrown back into more school.

The 24^th. I received a call from a marketing company about an interview set for Monday. I really hope it goes well because I need a job right now. The pay is amazing and the hours are flexible. Some of you may remember me working at a office supplies chain but…I had to quit my job at the office supplies store two months ago and I’ve been really struggling to stay afloat. If it were my choice I would still have my job.

And today, I’m typing a blog about the craziness of the past month! I hope I haven’t left anything out. The month is still young! And this blog is probably the biggest one I had ever posted on the site! Also the craziest! Haha.

No offense intended to anyone but they shouldn’t allow people who don’t understand what you’re saying or speak English properly conduct an interview. I had to repeat myself several times and use simple word phasing for her. Her words, not mine. I didn’t realize my word phasing was so complex (insert sarcastic sigh). The place was completely unprofessional and I hope to god no one would allow this company to watch over their ill relatives! They were just so rude. Everyone there was in regular clothes (ex. Jeans, Sneakers, & Tight shirts) and oh my god, it was just the most laughable place I’ve ever been. I’m not ungrateful that my school considered me for job placement but they really need to get into contracts with better companies overall.

I’m back on the job market, yes. I had to quit my other job to fit my mom’s new schedule so now I’m back to being jobless. And I hate it.

On April 29, 2010 I purchased the domain eyes-shut.com. Yes, this domain is my own which excites the heck out of me! I’ve always wanted to own my own domain! So I finally bought one. The name is just a shortening of the term ‘Eyes Wide Shut’ which refers to how I feel we all run through life, with full heads and eyes shut. I then purchased a month worth of space through hostgator.com. But I ended up canceling the service because the monthly cost increased and ended up costing more than just purchasing a year worth of space from another company. But now Endless Horizon and the newly founded Eyes Shut [DOT] com have a home. Thank you guys! Eyes-Shut[dot]com is a work in progress. It will be a collective archive that will house fanfiction once it’s up and running. I’m overall excited! And so glad to be back on the web. I’m currently working on a new skin.

Personal: As for my personal life, I’ll be completed with vocational school within the next week or so and waiting until August for the Fall semester of college to start. I’m so happy. Anyway financial aid won’t be covering the cost of attendance or my books until I transfer to a 4 year institution because my mom apparently makes too much according to the federal government. Poor is the new rich, go figure. It would mean so much to me if anyone could donate to The College Fund (link located on the left hand side). The College Fund is just as the name says. A fund dedicated to covering any college related expenses I incur such as books and class costs. Every penny counts!

I’ve done a little tweaking to the site, can you tell? Hehe. But I’m also decisive about a new layout for the site. I keep changing the default skin so that the visitors can view both before I get rid of them. I’m trying to think of a design. Should I go for simple or dramatic effect?

Jury Duty News: I had to go to the court house the other day to request an excuse and they gave me so much hell. They were basically saying they don’t care while I was explaining my situation to them. They were so rude and ugh. No parking either and I had a headache when I finished there. They claimed my situation wasn’t valid enough to request an excuse and that I STILL had to serve.

Anyway I went on a spending spree the other day and bought six movies for $3 bucks each. They were: Sabrina, Match Point, Mr. Wonderful, The Souler Opposite, Freedom Writers, and An Officer and a Gentleman. I’ve already watched 2 out of 6. So far so good. As for books, I’m currently reading “Trust Me” by Brenda Novak. So far its an amazing book. It’s so stylish and witty and I can’t wait to review it! Sorry about the quick run through but I’ve gotta run!

Oh and Endless Horizon has officially been online a whole year (since last month)! Can you believe that! It doesn’t even feel as though it’s been that long since I decided to close VMF and open this site. Anyway, here’s to another year on the web! Will update on Saturday!

In other news…On Friday, January 22, 2010, all my late nights cramming sessions, hard work, and dedication paid off and I was able to graduate and get my diploma. You can view it, here. I whited out the necessary stuff. I’m really happy that I got it but I feel that’s there more for me to do.

I think this is where my dilemma started. I mean I’m proud of the accomplishes that I have made and grateful for the opportunity that was given to me but I didn’t have much time to breathe because not even a week after graduation I began attending classes for Transportation Communications Union (TCU). When I first considered TCU I thought it would be more hands on training available and there isn’t. And what’s driving me completely insane is all the work involving the computer. For 8 hours straight I sit in front of a computer and speed test. I only get 15 minutes breaks between each class only to go back into the class for more computer staring and silence. I have literally and this is no joke, the SAME instructors for each class. My Learning Lab, Communications and Keyboarding instructor are all the same instructor. She migrates each period. And my Transportation instructor is also my Math instructor! No cell phones are allowed on the floor, no mp3 players, you’re required to dress professional one day out of the week AND I am forced to clock in and out like I’m at work and its school…(*dead silence*) I know! That was my initial reaction too but I didn’t think it was going to be that bad. I thought, “Hey, I have this. No problem.” Wrong. Nope. Maybe I just need to get used to this new atmosphere. I will cope…run…cope! Run! Oh I can’t decide…its a toss up!

So today or rather yesterday (Monday going on Tuesday), I took a day off because I woke up with a blazing headache. And I knew I wouldn’t be able to function at school like this. But the funny thing is, is that the head blazing I had rid myself of earlier returned like magic (sounds like a cheesy fanfiction the way I’m blogging this doesn’t it?) Anyway…it returned…magically…when I realized I had a traffic ticket that’s due in like 3 weeks. Yeah, and I totally forgot to blog about this…several times actually. OK so…Here’s the rundown…I got the ticket in December 2009…right before Christmas too. And its one of the nasty tickets. It’s a red light violation. In my defense, the light was green until I hit the crosswalk then it was suddenly red and I got the ticket mailed to me with photos and all. Lovely photo-enforced intersections. I’ve never gotten a ticket before so I was baffled when I got it because the damn thing totaled to $510 dollars. At first I thought I could afford to pay it off but $510 dollars?! I’m not a damn ATM. I’m not loaded! Since when does a red light “violation” cost $510 dollars?! I bet a speeding ticket is cheaper! Or hell, the deputy issued ones! It’s not like anyone died.

I’m a full-time student and full-time student equals no money. BROKE…yes…I’m BROKE… law enforcement trying to take my liquor store money…anyway I had filed to contest the ticket by appearing it court a few months back but they sent me a letter back stating I had to pay the ticket first to be considered for dismal where they would then issue me my money back in check form if I was found not-guilty. Stupid right? I know. The system is psychotic. I tried phoning the offices. The automated system told me I’d be able to speak to a human clerk but all the service did was redirect me several times. So today I decided to drive down there to see if I could work off the ticket by doing community service, have the ticket decreased, or dismissed. After waiting in a semi long line, in like 5 minutes I got a court date without having to pay a thing. Which is funny too because by the time I do appear in court to contest the ticket it’ll be almost a year from the date I initially got the ticket. So there you have it, the system is evil and does not work.
